LOCATION: STASZÓW, POLAND
We have completed a comprehensive reconstruction and modernization of the historic Town Hall in Staszów – a unique building dating back to 1738, which is the historical and social heart of the town. Our goal was to combine conservation precision with modern functionality, while respecting the spirit of classical architecture.
The scope of work covered all floors of the building, installations, and its surroundings:
The basements underwent thorough renovation and damp-proofing, including horizontal injection and foundation reinforcement using the geopolymer method. New sanitary facilities, technical rooms, and museum backroom space were created here.
On the ground floor, the former catering and library rooms have been given new functions. Modern exhibition rooms for the Staszów Region Museum, a tourist information point, a restaurant with kitchen facilities, and a souvenir shop have been created. Everything was finished with attention to detail – natural stone, wooden joinery, and restoration plaster ensured consistency with the character of the building.
The attic was transformed into a cultural center with a café, a senior club, a conference room, a mini cinema, and an exhibition space. The roof structure was replaced, restoring the traditional tile roofing, and new copper flashings and gutters were installed.
The electrical, sanitary, HVAC, SSWIN, CCTV monitoring, and audiovisual systems were replaced throughout the building. Passenger and freight elevators were installed, ensuring full accessibility of the building.
Outside, the façade was renovated and a granite paving strip was added, restoring the building’s representative character in the urban space.
Today, Staszów Town Hall is a modern cultural center, museum, and meeting place for the local community—an example of how to create spaces ready for the challenges of the present day while respecting history. This is another project that fits in with Renewal Art’s mission: to restore life and meaning to Poland’s architectural gems.
We put our heart in stone.
