Step by step towards completion

The works at the Palace of the Cracow Bishops in Kielce are dynamically moving forward. This facility is one of the most impressive monuments in Kielce, which in recent years has undergone many renovation, restoration and reconstruction works.

So far, we have completed the work, among others, in the northern wing with a connector where the scope of work included the repair and partial replacement of copper flashing or lightning protection system. We have performed conservation works of steel elements such as the gate, balustrades and lamps. The sandstone elements have also undergone maintenance and have been supplemented.

Works on the main body, which included the facades along with four towers, have also been completed. We have performed plastering and painting of the facade along with stucco profiles execution. Main cornices, sgrafitta, corner bonia, sandstone window frames and plinths as well as the doors leading to the Sanctuary of Marshal Joseph Pilsudski have undergone maintenance works.
The towers have received a new copper coating, we have also repaired their flashing.

We have also performed reconstruction works of stone sculptures of Moscow and Swedish envoys on the screen walls on the eastern facade. As part of the process, we have made plaster models of figures and pedestals, along with a model of a screen wall in the scale of 1: 1, which we have later carved out from the “Italy” sandstone.

Currently, there are plans for conservation works on the eastern loggia, which include, among others, vault with limestone details as well as aesthetic maintenance of the floor. The floor under the arcades in the southern wing will also be subject to maintenance works. In addition, we will take care of the gate, balustrades and steel lamps in this wing. The northern facade and the arcades located there will receive new plasters and paints. We are also planning to install reconstructed sculptures of envoys and accompanying finishing works.

We invite you to follow the work progress in the next news.
