Collegium Maius is the oldest university building in Poland. Currently, it is the seat of the Jagiellonian University Museum. Numerous reconstruction, natural disasters and economic collapses over the centuries caused that Collegium Maius, devoid of permanent maintenance has began to decline. Adaptation works of basement have been undertaken in order to converse it to exhibition halls and museum storage area.
The scope of works included execution of floors made of Sławniowice marble and a staircase (with landings of Libiąż dolomite). Paneling of staircase and cloakroom has been executed on the basis of custom design, with the use of travertine and Rosso Verona marble. All these actions have contributed to the restoration of the former atmosphere of this unique place.
